The Levite priests, who are Moses's right hand man, are now having to keep the peace between the people and Moses. One man named Dathan even storms into Zorah and tells Moses to "go ahead, make your laws and leave us alone." As a result of his actions the people turn against him and he is stoned to death.Moses then informs Aaron of this incident which results in Aaron threatening him saying that if anything happens again they will be punished for it. Moses tells him that he doesn't want anymore bloodshed and that one life is enough. Meanwhile, the Israelites continue to be tempted by the golden calf which has come into their midst. Aaron then goes before them and asks them not to worship this idol which Moses himself had made. Moses then hears of this and comes before his people with a sword in his hand ready to kill Aaron. When he is about to do so, he is stopped by God who tells him that if Aaron didn't want this idol to be worshiped, why did he make it? Moses then understands and drops the sword and leaves the room saying: "I am sorry."The episode ends with Aaron observing: "This is what we wanted all along; we've finally gotten it; we've made our legacy. This is what God meant for us all along."
